Are you wondering if you are running from something, rather than facing it?
 
There can be many answers to that question 
   *   Is it running, or
   *   is it coping, or
   *   is it surviving, or
   *   is it just keeping on straight ahead in a new direction, as William Saroyan described in his poem.
 
Is It Running?

Keep on straight ahead in the new direction
and try to be happy.
Fight off despair
and
try to be happy.
Pace yourself fast enough so that what you

leave behind can't catch up with you.
Above all, don't look back until you know
you are far enough away so that what
you see won't hurt you.

William Saroyan and his family fled...
the Armenian Holocaust.  He wrote the poem from experience as he kept moving forward.
 
To me, it is not running, it is moving forward.
